Last week I was busier than usual and didn’t get to work on any blog content. In fact, this has an issue of mine from the day I started this blog: I haven’t yet committed to a strict blogging cadence. Until I do that (and I really should), if I don’t have any well-formed posts to publish, I’ll settle instead for giving brief weekly updates about what I’m reading and working on (or of things that have inspired me).
What I’m reading:
- The Omnivore’s Dilemma, by Michael Pollan
- You Are What You Love, by James K. Smith
- Doomsday Book, by Connie Willis
- Psalms, Proverbs, and the gospel of Luke
What I’m working on at work:
- Updating the design of our online help header and footer
- Documenting a new customer feedback feature and some password security requirements
- Documenting standards for our configuration guides
- Writing an article about how documentation can enable sales (to be published in the Society for Technical Communication’s Intercom magazine)
What I’m working on in my spare time:
- Major overhauls of the final chapters of my novel
- An essay about the vengeance cycle on social media
- Short reviews of two of the books I’m reading (stay tuned!)
- A blog post about … get this … blogging as a way to till the Internet for future generations (I promise it will make more sense when I publish it)
Favorite article of the week: How to Tell If You Are in a High-Fantasy Novel
What I’m listening to: Lofi Hip Hop Radio
